GV II

School: dated 1875, addition 1913. Squared, roughly-coursed
hammer-dressed red stone, with cream ashlar dressings. Tiled
roofs, with crested ridge. 'T'-plan, porch in angle: rear angle
infilled by 1913 classroom. On right high gable to hall; square-
set buttresses to sides, plain plinth: 3-light geometric-tracery
window, leaf-stops to hoodmould, with floriate finial: above
circular eye. Cross gablets to gable kneelers: high gabled
bellcote to apex, cross gablets to its foot and apex with octagonal
finial. Sunk trefoil in gable. To left porch: gabled, cross
gablet kneelers and apex, with square finial. Moulded Early
English doorway, red colonettes, uncarved stops to hoodmould,
planked door. Above date carved on a shield. To left plain side
of stem to 'T', buttresses as hall: cross-gablet kneelers to
gable, apex a trefoil stone. Chimney rises out of roof, stone
base, top rebuilt.
Interior: hall 5-bays, trusses rising off chunky corbels;
inserted ceiling: doorways shouldered: stone fireplace surround.
