Dwelling, formerly farmhouse, known as Furnace Bottom Farm. C17. Rendered,
stone slate front slope, Welsh slate, back. Small 3-room plan, but probably
original 2-room, extended to gabled section, left: Large stack, right, formerly
with spiral stair in oak, large stack, left, with stone (unused) spiral
stair in semi-circular container, including two blocked lights. Two-and-a-
half storeys, irregular fenestration in gabled unit, left, three 2-light
casements, one small 2-light under eaves, and two new 2-light low, right in
right half. New door in original opening, off-centre, left, and new glazed
door, right. Interior much modified, including new stair, but various beams
and original joists; on large bressummer to fireplace, left, two small square
carved panels containing inscriptions 'WH' and '1699' respectively. Bread-
oven also to this fireplace.
