Identified on map SO 60 NE as HAMSTALLS. Detached house. C17 with early
C19 wing. Rubble and painted brick, Welsh slate roof, hipped to extension.
Property in two units, older, gabled, attached to higher hipped extension.
Main front, to river (north) two storeys plus one central dormer, two wide
spaced windows in old block, two windowed extension. Ground floor: new
canted bay, 4-panel door in new porch, sash with glazing bars, canted bay
centrally newer block: first floor 2 + 2 sashes with glazing bars, small 2-
light casement dormer. Interior large fireplace and stack, left, flanked
by stone newel stair; roof untreated oak heavy pegged members. In entrance
hall, south side, a re-used barge mast or spar as beam.
