Fragment of south aisle wall of the abbey church. C12 or C15. Sandstone. The
wall is approximately 4 metres high and 6 metres long, and is now attached to
the north side of an outbuilding. Included for group value. Merevale Abbey was a
Cistercian house, founded in 1148 by Robert, Earl Ferrers. Scheduled ancient
monument.
