Farmhouse, now two cottages. Early C18, altered C20. Dressed
limestone, concrete tiled roof, gable end brick stacks and coped
verges. L-plan. Three-storey, 3-window; casements. Central 4-
panelled door with depressed Tudor-arched stone case with carved
spandrels and William Baker inscribed on oval lintel plaque, 3-
light ovolo-mullioned casement either side. First floor has 3-
light ovolo-mullioned casement either side of 2-light ovolo-
mullioned casement. Second floor or attic has three 2-light
chamfered mullioned casements with leaded lights. Right return has
2-light ovolo-mullioned casement to ground floor and first floor
with C20 casement also to first and single ovolo-moulded casement
to attic. Left return has 4-panelled door with blocked chamfered
light to right, 3-light mullioned casement to left and 2-light
mullioned casement to first floor and to attic. Rear has wing with
attached C20 flat roofed extension to left. Interior not
accessible at time of survey (November (1985). Formerly known as
Baker's Farmhouse; William Baker was an important freeholder here
in mid C18 and farm remained in Baker family until bought by
William Beckford in 1796.
