Farmhouse. C16-C17 with mid C18 alterations. Timber framed and plastered,
with lean-to extension to rear in red brick; pantiled roof with glazed black
tiles to the rear. 2 storeys. A single range with short flanking gabled
cross wings. 4 windows, sashes with glazing bars in flush frames; in addition
the main range has an C18 3-light sashed bow window. One 3-light small-paned
casement window to ground floor of right hand wing. Asymmetrical doorway with
6-panel raised and fielded door, rectangular fanlight with ornamental glazing
bars and side lights framed by sunk pilasters; cornice with dentils and
modillions. Wooden modillion eaves cornice, carried round the bow window.
Internal stack, the upper part rebuilt. At the rear is one C18 window with
square-leaded panes. Mid C18 staircase with 3 turned balusters per tread, a
wreathed handrail and carved tread ends. The entrance hall has an enriched
plaster dentil cornice. The room to the right of the hall is fully panelled
(raised bolection-moulded panels) and has a wooden cornice; the room to the
left of the hall has a wooden dentil cornice.
