Former farmhouse, probably C15 or early C16 with alterations of C17 and 1747
as dated. 3-cell cross-entry plan, formerly with open hall. One storey and '
attics. Timber-framed and plastered; extensive areas of small raised
pargetted panels corresponding to the date 1747 in a cartouche over the front
door. Thatched roof with axial C17 chimney of narrow red bricks; two eyebrow
dormers with small pane casements. C19 small-pane casements. 6-panelled door,
probably of 1747, with fielded panels and placed at cross-entry. Hipped
thatched open entrance porch of C19. To right is an C18 bakehouse range with
pantiled roof. Plain medieval framing; the open truss of the 2-bay open hall
is missing. A binding beam supporting the inserted C16/C17 upper floor passes
through the rear wall and is needled externally.
