6/57 Ratfyn Farmhouse

Farmhouse c1750-1800 on site of earlier building and Roman site.
Brick in Flemish bond, with gable of flint and chalk chequerwork.
Tiled roof. Two storeys, attic and cellar, 3 bays facade,
returning to form 'L'-plan on right, the re-entrant angle filled
with C19 two-storey building, further extended in C20. C19
central porch covering half-glazed door. Four-paned sashes in
original openings, with gauged brick lintels and keystones. Plat
band and brick dentilled eaves. Two 16-paned dormers with hipped
roofs. Main roof hipped, with shouldered stacks to rear wall.
Rear wing is of 2 bays, extended by 2 bays, with large dormer on
hipped gable end.
Interior: closed string stair with stout turned balusters.
