Farmhouse. Early-mid C17, extended in late C18. Mixed English
bond brickwork with tiled roofs. Two storeys and cellar, four
structural bays. Two parallel blocks, the rear block earlier and
partly refaced. Main elevation on second, c1800 block, of 3 bays.
Central 6-panelled door with fanlight, within C19 trellis porch.
Tripartite 12-pane sashes to ground floor with gauged brick lintels
with keystones and cambered soffits. Nine-pane sashes to first
floor. Brick dentilled eaves. Two brick stacks on rear wall, now
valley gutter. Earlier rear block has irregular fenestration.
Large gable stacks. C19 dairy added on south end, with hipped
roof.
Interior of earlier block has deep chamfered spine beams and C18
eared fire surround to north end room. Roof of 2 tiers of clasped
purlins with cambered collars. Front block has early C19
fireplaces. Front elevation has curved cob walls approximately
2.8m high extended to enclose front garden, and meeting stable-barn
block (q.v.) to south at a pedestrian gate.
