House. C17. Timber framed with colourwashed brick infilling. C20
pantiled roof. Single storey and attic, raised to 2 storeys. Main
living room bay with framed half bay in gable for stack, and an
inner bay. Framing 3 panels high on malmstone sill, and having
corner braces, all raised by a fourth panel with chamfered
oversailing wall plate, further heightened when thatch replaced. A
third, heated, bay added beyond original gable stack in late C18.
Central 6-panelled door within open gabled porch, and above the
name, Fairfield Farm, inscribed on stone. Six-paned sash windows
to ground floor, paired casement windows to upper floor and 3-light
leaded windows to extension. Left gable rebuilt in brick in C20
and lean-to added.
