House, now house and shop. Circa 1700, with C17 rear wing, and some mid-
C20 alterations. Red brick; timber framed at rear with brick nogging.
Plain tile roof. Framing: rectangular panels to rear wing, and collar
and tie-beam truss with V-struts. T-plan. 2 storeys and gable-lit attic,
with rear wing of one storey and attic. Plinth, plat band, dentil brick
eaves cornice, and parapeted gable ends with moulded stone copings and
shaped stone kneelers. Integral brick end stacks. 3 bays; C20 three-
light wooden casements, with concrete lintels. Central first-floor blind
window. Central door with 6 beaded flush panels (upper 2 panels glazed)
and moulded wooden architrave. Decorative wrought-iron bracket above door
to support former shell hood (see line on brickwork), mentioned in old
list description but since removed. Inserted C20 shop-front to right with
plate-glass window and door to right with 6 beaded flush panels. Rear wing
with tall external lateral brick stack. Interior partly inspected.
Staircase of c.1700 with open string, stubby column-on-vase balusters (2 per
tread), moulded handrail, and square newel posts with moulded caps. Balustrade
returning to first-floor landing. Ground-floor C18 door with 2 raised and
fielded panels.
