House and cottage, now house and byre. Dated 1663. Rubble, stone slate
roof. 2 cell central lobby-entry plan house plus 1 cell cottage, both
with double-chamfered mullioned windows. 2 storeys. House has 2 first
floor windows, and central quoined doorway with moulded arris,
triangular soffit, 4-panelled door. A plaque above the doorway is
inscribed 'GH 1663 FH'. The left ground floor window is of 4-lights
under an ovolo-moulded hood; to the right a 2-light (formerly 4) under a
plain moulded hood; 3-light windows above. The cottage on the left has
a blocked doorway matching that of house, to its left the head of a 2-
light window now above a shuttered window; on the first floor a blocked
3-light window. 3 stacks, in ashlar with classical cornices, at ends
overall and in centre of house, the latter one with a weathered
inscription commemorating the Restoration. Interior: entrance to house
baffled by central chimney, with stairs rising up behind. The name may
refer to it being a Nether or Low Hall.
