SO 85 NW GRIMLEY CP CAMP LANE

4/50 Camp House Inn

House, now public house. Probably C17 with extensive later alterations
and additions. Timber-framed, brick infill, brick refacing and replace-
ment walling with cement rendering. Partly hipped, tiled roofs and large
brick stack with offsets to left side elevation and to rear. Main part
of 2 framed bays, probably hall, through-passage and service bay with
single bay parlour at upper end. Two storeys and attic. Framing not
exposed. Front elevation to river: main part has lean-to outshut divided
by central gabled wing and lower projecting gabled porch; 3 C20 ground
floor casements and 2 gabled dormers with casements; gabled wing has first
floor casement and porch has a C19 planked door. Parlour wing has a pyramidal
roof and a gabled two storey projecting wing with a ground floor casement and
first floor cross casement. Main entrance at rear. Interior: much altered;
some beams stop-chamfered. C18 extensions to right side elevation and to
rear.
