Barn. Early C18 incorporating earlier materials. Weatherboarded and
corrugated-iron clad timber frame, with some red brick nogging, on
dressed yellow/grey sandstone plinth; corrugated iron roof. Framing:
tall rectangular panels with long tension braces, some curved. 3 framed
bays. Pair of opposed central large boarded doors. Interior: tie
beam trusses with raking struts, and collar and tie-beam end trusses
with queen struts. Single purlins with wind braces. Each bay division
with central post and long straight tension braces. The frame incorporates
much reused earlier timber. Included for group value.
