Cottage (now school) and school of c1700. Red brick with brick eaves and
dentilled band and plain tile roof with rebuilt central ridge stack. 5
window range of 2 and 3-light casements, mostly cambered lintels. Some
alterations. C19 door with flat lintel. 2 windows on left end. C19
extension on right end of lesser interest and large C20 extension covers part of
rear. Otherwise door and 2-light casements. Inglenook and beams inside.
Cottages and garden given to village in 1717 by Thomas Charnell to form school,
library and master's house (White's Leicester and Rutland, 1846, P.593).
