Canal tunnel entrances of earlier C19. Rusticated and vermiculated
stonework with string courses. On concave curve plan with depressed arch
over canal. Indecipherable inscription tablet over arch. Entrances lead
to brick vaulted tunnel of 250 yards over Ashby de la Zouch Canal. S
entrance near No. 2, Main Street, N entrance near Snarestone Lodge, Measham
Road.
