Shown on OS map as Lower Blagdon Farm Farmhouse. House. C17. Roughcast and slobbered
rubble, steeply pitched double Roman tiled roof, painted brick stacks gable ends.
Plan: 2-cell and cross passage with coeval L-plan outshut and extension at rear, barn
adjoining. Two storeys, 3 bays; all C20 wooden casements, 2-light first floor with
tiny 2-light wooden light to former stair, ground floor 2 and 4-light casements
flanking central C20 porch, C20 ribbed plank door with light; left return unlit wall
of barn abutting steeply pitched triple Roman tiled roof, weatherboarded gable end;
right return small wooden light to stair on ground floor, wall to right of stack
projects as L-plan outshot with French windows and C19 leaded casement above. C20
extension at rear including 4-light steeply chamfered wooden mullioned window.
Interior not seen, said to contain stud and panel screens to cross passage, chamfered
beams with scroll stops; the former kitchen to right with chamfered lintel to
fireplace, remains of bread oven; collar beam trusses to roof,small cornice moulding
in 2 rooms on upper storey. (VAG Report, unpublished SRO, February 1980).
