Farmhouse now divided into 2 cottages. Late C17, possibly incorporating
parts of an earlier building,with later additions and alterations. Timber
framed with painted brick infill, cladding or rebuilding and additions;
machine tile roofs with tile coping to left gable end of hall range.
Basic L-plan comprising hall range (apparently of 2 1/2 framed bays) with
flush gabled cross-wing (one bay) projecting to rear on right. One-
bay gabled range attached to rear of cross-wing under different roof pitch
may formerly have been part of cross-wing. One storey and attic. Framing:
to range to rear of cross-wing: square and rectangular panels, 3 from
cill to wall-plate with short straight braces from wall posts to tie
beam, but partly rebuilt in brick and painted black and white in imitation;
queen-strut truss with projecting single-purlin ends. Truncated queen-
post truss to rear gable of cross-wing. Hall range (earlier brick than
cross-wing which may be cladding of timber frame) has C20 casement in
wider infilled segmental-headed opening to centre with small window to
right. Gabled dormer breaking eaves directly above casement has C20
window. Truncated integral end stack to left. Cross-wing has segmental-
headed early C20 casements to front, 2 to ground floor and one above.
Integral end stack to rear and truncated end stack to front gable of range
attached to rear. Catslide outshut to right of cross-wing. Interior.
Inspection not possible at time of resurvey (February 1987) but likely
to be of interest.
