Farmhouse, now house. Early C17 with later additions and alterations.
Timber-framed with rendered infill on rubblestone plinth and slate hanging
to right gable end; machine tile roof, hipped to left. Baffle-entry plan
in four framed bays. One storey and attic. Framing: square panels, three from
cill to wall-plate, with short straight tension braces to front and rear.
Boarded door approached by external stone steps to left of centre has C20
latticed casement to left and two C19 casements with leaded latticed lights
to right. Three C20 gabled eaves dormers also have latticed casements.
Red brick stack immediately behind ridge in line with entrance. INTERIOR:
main ground-floor room (to right of stack) has two chamfered spine beams
with stepped ogee stops. C17 plank doors throughout and wide boarded oak
floor boards on first floor. Double-purlin, collar and tie-beam roof. Late
C20 lean-to against left end is not of special architectural interest.
