GV II

Barn and Shelter Shed adjacent. Mid C18 barn, C19 shed. Timber frames on
red brick sills, dark weatherboarded with pitched roofs now of
corrugated asbestos. Tall 3-bay barn facing S with central gabled porch
with double doors, 3 high pitching doors in rear-wall, and off-centre
winnowing door in rear of middle bay. Extended to W. Unjowled posts with
heavy knee-braces to long tie-beams each carrying a shaped king-post and
raking queen-posts to the clasped purlins. Straight tension braces
interrupt the wall studs. Of special interest as an unaltered C18 barn.
Narrow shelter-shed backing onto road at E, facing W into yard included
for group value.
