This monochrome photo was taken at the outbreak of World War 2 in 1939 and prior to the removal of the iron railings, showing the fine, early Georgian doorway of this distinctive house in Watford's Lower High Street. The photo is reproduced here by courtesy of the Terry Trainor Collection.
