Bridge carrying railway over Grand Union Canal. 1837, altered C20.
Robert Stephenson, engineer, for London and Birmingham Railway. Iron
bridge originally, reinforced in concrete in C20. Skew segmental arch
about 20m in span and 25m deep with 6 iron ribs, some of original iron
in spandrels is visible. Band below rebuilt parapet. Impost blocks to
splayed brick abutments. Battered brick pilasters with stone capitals.
(T.T. Bury, The London and Birmingham Railroad, 1837). The western half
of the bridge is listed in King's Langley civil parish in Dacorum
Borough.
