4/49 Trull House
GV II
Country house. Mid C19, incorporating part of early C18 house at
rear. Coursed rubble stone with ashlar dressings, Cotswold stone
slate roof, 3 triple-flue stone stacks in elaborate designs, one
octagonal ridge stack to right of centre, 2 single stacks on rear
wing. Tudor style. 'L'-plan, 2 storeys and attic. Near
symmetrical facade of 6 bays, 5 in symmetry with 2 gables, each
with ball finial on square base, and one additonal bay to right.
Symmetrical section has 2 square 4-light bays below gables, and
2/4/2-light windows between. Right hand bay has 4-light window.
Each light has shallow round arch single panel with 2 Perpendicular
panels above forming square-head. Most of single panels are
latticed. Central porch below 4-light window has cornice and
blocking course and wide double doors in arch under square
hoodmould. Open loggia with stone balustrade above to south west
front. Rear wall of north west wing has small oval light in gable
with central elliptical glazing.
