10/33 The Croft (rignt) Pilgrim Cottage

2 cottages semi-detached. Early C19 main body with C15-C16
building now attached to rear of Pilgrim Cottage. Coursed squared
and dressed limestone, limestone slate roof with limestone gable
coping. Concrete tile roof to C15-C16 building. Rectangular plan
with earlier building attached rear left. Facade of C19 main body:
2 storeys, 6-windowed; 2 and 3-light C19 and C20 metal casements
with leaded lights. Lower windows and doors with segmental heads.
2 doors: part-glazed C20 door off-centre left with simple flat
wooden, hood over; 6-panel Early C19 or reused C18 door far right.
Flat limestone gable coping.
Interior of C15-C16 building: upper cruck type construction
comprising 2 curving principal rafters, halved at apex with collar
and 2 sets of through purlins. The curving principal rafters are
supported on an interrupted beam, the inner ends of which are
supported by a pair of braces which rise up from the tie beam below
to meet the principal rafter at the height of the lower set of
purlins above. Single truss only visible.
