10/34 The Chantry
II
Former rectory, now house. Built for the Rev. Samuel Warneford
(q.v., Church of St. Lawrence) cl8lO, mid-late C19 extension, C20
sun loggia (not of special interest). Main body ashlar with
slate roof extension coursed squared and dressed limestone with
limestone slate roof. Main body rectangular double pile plan with
later C19 extension set back from garden front on left. Main body
3 storeys, extension left 2 storeys. 5-windowed main body. All
12-pane sashes, with 6-pane sashes to third floor of main body.
Band below first floor windows. Central late C19 part glazed
panelled door. Extension left stepped down from main body, 2
storeys then one storey. One windowed; 12-pane sashes. Wooden
eaves cornice with paired brackets to main body. Open sided
entrance porch at rear with free standing columns supporting flat
stone roof with moulded modillioned cornice.
Interior: window shutters and several original fireplaces.
