4/14 The Old Smithy

II


Former smithy now garage/store. Late C18/C19. C20 estate
cottages attached left not of listable quality. Square timber
framing with brick infill right. Brick on low squared limestone
plinth course left. Squared limestone right gable end.
Limestone slate roof. Single room depth. 2 storeys. Irregular
fenestration. Ground floor: late C18/early C19 casement with
leaded lights. C19 2-light canted shop window with horizontal
glazing bars and limestone slate roof over. Garage type door on
C19 runners right of casement window. Single, painted plank door
with segmental brick arch over, left. Painted, plank pitching
door, centre, first floor. Furnace still in situ inside.
