Limekiln C19. Unrendered stone rubble. Built into bank, virtually circular on
plan with circular well. 3 swallows, that to left with cambered stone arch of rough
stone voussoirs, that to front is smaller with straight-headed stone lintel and that
to right is corbelled. Stone rubble retaining walls extend from each side.
Combe Martin has the highest concentration of kilns in North Devon. They are ranged
in a line close to the limestone quarries, the belt running parallel to and south-
west of the long village street.
