Public House and shop. C16 or earlier with later additions and alterations.
Timber framed and plastered. Red plain tiled roof gabled to left and right
with 2 level roof to single storey shop to left. Central and left red brick
chimney stacks. 2 storeys. 4 window range of small paned vertically sliding
sashes, those to ground floor with horns. Two 2 panelled doors with small paned
glazing and lights over. Fluted pilasters, convex friezes and moulded flat
canopies, both approached by 2 steps. Single storey left range with glazed
central door and 2 shop windows with glazing bars. Chamfered ceiling beams
and door heads internally. RCHM 20.
