Farmhouse, dated 1739 on stone panel over door. Lightly tooled-and-margined
sandstone of near-ashlar quality on coursed, herringbone-tooled plinth. Pan-
tiled roof with stone ridge, copings, kneelers and stacks. 2 storeys and base-
ment, 3 bays, slightly irregular, and a l-bay extension, probably early C19. 5
steps to modern door in moulded surround with pseudo-3-centred arch; traces of
ogee-gabled porch, now removed. Modern window inserted in basement to right;
boarded basement door right of steps. 2 small chamfered basement openings to
left. Left of door two 12-pane sashes, in wood architraves in cyma-moulded
stone reveals with projecting cills, on each floor; single similar window on
each floor at right. Extension (which may be a rebuilding of an earlier down-
house) has boarded door and similar windows in plain reveals. Cills are verti-
cally tooled and margined. Cornice-banded end-stacks to main house, brick end
stack to extension. Rear elevation has scattered small sashes. Modern lean-to
on extension is not of interest.
