House and forge, early C19. Coursed herringbone-tooled sandstone; pantiled roof
with stone ridge, copings, kneelers and stacks. House 3 storeys, 2 bays; forge
at left 1 storey, 2 bays. C20 boarded door at right. Boarded central opening
and left stable door, which may have given access through house to forge.
Bracketed hood and small side light to right-hand door. Sash windows, 16-pane
on first floor and 12-pane above, with projecting cills and external boarded
shutters. Forge has boarded cart door under concrete lintel at right, tiny
Yorkshire sash high up at left, and 2 boarded loft openings under eaves. main
roof has gable copings on prominent kneelers; cornice-banded end chimneys.
Small lean-to at left of forge is not of special interest.
