GV II
Barn and cart shed. Late CIB. By John Carr. Much covered with later
accretions of no particular interest. Partly-rendered magnesian limestone
coarsed rubble with ashlar dressings, corrugated-iron roof in 2 levels to
barn and Welsh slate roof to cart shed, and cast-iron weathervane. Multi-
bay arcaded barn of which 8 to the south form the hay barn and remainder
form the threshing barn with 6-bay cart shed to north-east corner. The 2
southernmost bays to the barn are blocked. The 9th bay has slightly wider
and lower segmental arch probably originally giving access to yard beyond,
otherwise round arches. Arcade to north blocked with slit vents. Piers to
arches have square capitals. Cogged brick eaves. Weathervane in the form
of a cow above 9th bay. Hipped roof to cart shed.
