Farmhouse. Dated 1720 with C17 origins and C20 alterations. Coursed rubble, stone
dressings, slate roof. 3 storeys, 4 bays. Left-hand entrance has plain surround;
C20 door. All windows have C20 casements. Second bay contains projecting 2-storey
gabled porch. Central entrance has moulded surround and segmental headed lintel
with initials R
I A and date 1720; hoodmould. Upper floor of porch contains late
C17 3-light chamfered window with hoodmould. Above is triangular arrangement of
pigeon holes separated by horizontal slates, all now blocked and partly hidden by
slate sundial dated 1740 with iron gnomon. To right are two C17 ground floor
chamfered windows of 4 and 2-lights respectively. The original chamfered mullions
were replaced by C18 flat-faced mullions; hoodmoulds. On first floor are 3 early
C18 two-light flat faced mullioned windows with moulded surrounds and on second
floor are 3 similar but smaller windows, with chamfered surrounds. Quoins. Shaped
kneelers. Gable end and 2 ridge stacks. Interior not accessible.
