3/4 Bridge Cottage
GV II
Cottage. Dated 1672 with C18 and C20 alterations. Limewashed rubble, painted stone
dressings, stone slate roof. Left-hand block of 2 storeys, 2 bays with right-hand
wing of 1 bay set back from the road. Entrance left of centre has slate lintel
and plank door. In centre is ground floor small single-light window, with chamfered
surround, probably a former fire-window. Low ground floor window with slate sill
to left and C20 window to right. Two former 2-light chamfered mullioned windows
on upper floor with mullions now gone. All have C20 casements. Gable-end ridge
stack. Right-hand wing has central entrance with moulded surround and decorated
lintel dated and inscribed: P
I M. Right-hand gable end ridge stack. Right-hand
return contains early C18 windows on each floor with moulded surround and C20
casements.
