3/9 Stables about 85 yards
east of Home Farmhouse

Stables. C18. Brick with Welsh slate hipped roof. Rectangular plan aligned
north-north-east/south-south-west. One storey and attic. West elevation has
2:2:2 windows, glazing bar sashes to outer pairs and top-vent glazing bar
windows to central pair, all with gauged brick heads. Advanced centre with
raised pediment and oculus. Deep projecting eaves cornice with dentilled
bricks continues across base and around slopes of pediment. Four pilasters
to left and right corners and beneath pediment, all crossed by cornice.
Central round-headed entry with projecting keystones and imposts. One wider
depressed semi-circular headed arch to carriage-entry between each pair of
outer windows with same keystone and impost details. Interior has some
trusses with ties and collars; others have queen struts and V-struts above
collars. The stables served Allensmore Court which was demolished c1957.
