House, formerly gardener's house. Mid C19, extended C20. For estate
of Charles Robert Scott Murray of Danesfield. Coursed and knapped
flint with brick dressings; plain tile roof; brick chimney to left
with row of 3 square shafts linked at cap and string. 1½ storeys,
3 bays. Right bay slightly advanced and gabled with bargeboards.
Cast iron diagonal lattice casements in chamfered brick surrounds,
2-light to ground floor left and first floor. Upper windows in
left bays are in semi-dormers with half-timbered gables. Central
C20 door in C20 lean-to porch. Right bay has 4-centred chamfered
brick arch, now with leaded glazing but formerly open with passage
through to kitchen garden. Sundial in stone surround above; knapped
flint and stone plaque with initials SM in gable. C20 matching bay
and double garage to right; other C20 U-plan extensions to left
incorporating small C19 outbuilding.
