Farmhouse. Early C18, remodelled early C19, with later C19 and C20 alterations.
Slatestone rubble, front and part of the right side slate-hung, partly rendered.
Slate roof with gable ends. Gable end stacks with brick shafts.
Plan: Double depth plan, with front range with one large principal room to right and
smaller room to left, off-centre porch to left. To rear right an integral 2-room
plan kitchen wing with ridge stack heating the kitchen. 2-span roof hipped over the
rear service rooms.
Exterior: 2 storeys, asymmetrical 3-window range. Ground floor has 6-pane sash to
right and left of C19, porch with flat roof, rendered and panelled to front, with
cornice and blocking course, 12-pane sash to front and half-glazed C19 door with
margin glazing to right side, with pilasters and segmental head. First floor has
central 12-pane sash, and 12-pane sash with sidelights to right and left; modillion
cornice and 2 dormers, each with hipped roof and 15-pane sash. The left side of the
front range is slate-hung. Rear kitchen wing has ground floor 2-light casement of 15
panes each light, with iron stanchions and stone cambered head, first floor 6-pane
sash with stone cambered head. At the right side, the front range is in rubble at
ground floor, slate-hung above, with 4-pane sash at ground floor to left. Rear
kitchen wing is also slate-hung at upper level, at first floor with two 3-light
casements with L hinges, and single 8-pane light at ground floor. First floor has
two 16-pane sashes. Small single storey addition to right end, with C20 door,
rendered, with end stack, probably originally a wash-house. At the rear, the house
has 3 casements at ground floor, each 2-light with stone cambered heads. At first
floor, two 20-pane sashes with stone cambered heads and small single light to left.
The rear wing has 4-pane light at ground floor, 2 single lights at first floor.
