Parish church. Circa 1900. Slatestone rubble with limestone dressings. Slate roof
with crested ridge tiles and cross finials.
Plan: Nave and chancel in one, with south porch and circular south stair tower
leading to lower room; north organ chamber. Gothic style.
Exterior: The west end of the nave has tall paired lancets, gable brough forward as a
bellcote, with bell. The south side has 2 paired lancets, with 2 sinlge lancets to
right and one to left. To right, the stair tower with stepped lancets. To left,
gabled porch with rounded arched doorway, double doors with strap hinges. The north
side of the nave has a stepped stack with brick shaft rising from the eaves. Paired
lancet and single lancet to right, paired lancet and 2 single lancets to left. The
organ chamber projects slightly, and has a similar stack with shaped stone shaft
rising from the eaves. Single lancet to left of organ chamber. The east end has
scalloped bargeboards to gable end, triple lancet with the central light taller.
Basement has 2 paired lancets with lintel string; to the south side of the chancel at
basement level, a 2-centred arched doorway, plain door with strap hinges.
Interior: The porch has a common rafter roof; inner doorway with chamfered 4-centred
arch, double doors with strap hinges. Nave and chancel in one with 8-bay roof with
scissors trusses. Painted brick walls with the fireplaces blocked. Wooden arch with
stone corbels to the organ chamber. South door to the stair tower with a 4-centred
arch.
Fittings: wooden pulpit and pews, octagonal stone font in nave, all contemporary with
the church.
