Grotto and icehouse. Late C18. Ashlar sandstone, rubble and brick. 3 bay
grotto, with passage leading from rear of central bay for a distance of
approximately 30 metres to circular brick icehouse with deep cavity and
vaulted top. Grotto: cyclopian dry-stone masonry forming 3 roundish arches,
the central one larger, behind which are 3 rubble barrel-vaulted chambers,
the central one tapering down to form passage approximately 1.75 metres
high. From outer sides of outer chambers, pointed-arched doorways lead up
into garden behind.
