Gates and gate piers. Early C18 gate piers, C19 gates. Gate piers probably
by Daniel Garrett for Richard Shuttleworth. Ashlar sandstone gate piers,
cast-iron gates. 2 piers, square on plan, on plain bases, with banded
rustication to front and back, and flat sides. Abaci. Moulded cornices.
Pyramidal tops. Gates: round bars, with anthemion finials to main bars and
intermediate lower bars. Half way up upper bars, tapering beaded clasps
have been added, but many of these are damaged or missing.
