Planned farmbuildings, c.1840-50, incorporating late C18 barn in east range.
Squared rubble with tooled-and-margined quoins and dressings to C19 parts;
Welsh slate roofs except for stone slates on older barn. Ranges around yard
open to south with main barn running back from centre of north range.
North range, 1 + 2 storeys, 1 + 2 + 1 + 2 + 1 bays, symmetrical. Centre has
tall round-headed arch with 6-pane loft windows at each side; coped gables.
Lower flanking parts each have a pair of segmental arches with 3 part-slatted
windows above; coped gables. Single-storey end bays have segmental arches.
East range in 2 parts: single-storey section to north has boarded door and
blocked doorway,in alternating-block surrounds.C18 barn to south has similar
doorway, with boarded door and 12-pane Yorkshire sash to loft above. Raised
reverse-stepped gable coping. Right return shows stone stair to boarded door.
Single-storey west range shows 3 doorways with alternating-block surrounds and
3 part-slatted windows. Walls with arched coping and monolith jamb to gateways,
originally enclosing separate yards in front of 3 central parts of north range,
the western later extended to include the west range.
Rear elevation of north range shows projecting barn with 9 vents in gable end,
each a chamfered square opening holding a circular iron plate with radial
ventilation slits. Left return of barn shows roofline of demolished gingang;
circular opening for driveshaft flanked by sockets for gingang tie-beams, each
in block surround. 2-storey part on right of barn has external stone stair.
Rear elevation of east range shows doorway to C18 barn with raised alternating-
block surround; projecting gabled cart shed to right has entrance with timber
lintel.
