Laburnum Cottage

GV II

Small cottage, former maltster's house, attached on south side to
C19 house. Mid/late C17. Rubble stone with quoins, stone slate
roof with coped verges, small brick stack to left and saddlestone
to right end, rear lateral brick stack. Single small range, 2
storeys and attic. Ends retain stone framed windows, single stone
framed light in gable, 2-light stone mullion with square hoodmould
on first floor and 3-light on ground floor. Two-light blocked on
west side. North front has one stone framed window without
mullions, remaining windows 2 or 3-light casements with timber
lintels, door moved to single storey rear extension of C19.
Interior has large chamfered and stopped beam on ground floor.
Original newel stair to rear stack has been moved.
