Formerly a coaching inn now a house. 1836 for Sir Charles Monck. Ashlar with
tooled-and-margined dressings and Welsh slate roof. Double-span roof. Two
storeys.

East front: chamfered plinth and roll-moulded corners. 5 bays with 4-pane
sashes in chamfered surrounds; similar 2-light windows in left bay. Plain
frieze. Two pedimented gable ends with blocking course. Tripartite corniced
end and ridge stacks.

Roundheaded doorway on right return has panelled door with fanlight in raised
roll-moulded surround. A similar surround above is now blocked except for a
lunette in the head.

Interior has early C19 detail including staircase with ramped and wreathed
handrail, 6-panel doors and shutters, and stone fireplaces with roll-moulded
edges.
