Formerly 2 cottages now one. Late C16-mid C17 and C20. Square-
panelled timber framing with rendered infill on a dressed stone
plinth; left gable end coursed squared and dressed limestone;
thatched roof with decorative ridge thatching; red brick stack.
Early range has been extended to the right to form an 'L'-shaped
overall plan C20. Single storey and attic: one 2-light fixed
casement without glazing bars to the ground floor, one C20 metal
casement with glazing bars far right. Two 2-light eyebrow dormers
with C20 metal casements with glazing bars to the first floor.
Central C20 panelled door. Carpenter's marks in the form of Roman
numerals on the exterior of the timbers of the early range.
Interior: open fireplace with bressumer beam on which the date
1687 is crudely carved; segmental-headed opening to bread oven to
the right; beam with bar stops. Formerly known as Fields Cottage.
