Cottage with former chapel now used as store-shed attached. Early C19. Painted
rendered stone rubble and possibly some cob to cottage. Slate roof with gable ends
to cottage; brick stack at left gable end. Asbestos slate roof to former chapel.
Plan: Cottage of 1 room plan to left of entrance passage with winder staircase to
rear left-hand corner and single-storey C20 kitchen extension to rear. Chapel
extends to right, parallel with the sheet, rectangular on plan with carriageway
through at right end. Floor inserted in C20.
Exterior: cottage 2 storeys with attic storey. Gabled dormer with slated cheeks,
shaped bargeboards and 2 light casement, 2 panes per light. C20 3 light casement, 3
panes per light on each floor to left of plank door with 2 glazed upper panels.
Chapel has 2 large semi-circular arched windows with intersecting glazing bars, the
left-hand window has had sill raised slightly when double plank doors were inserted
below. Double plank doors to carriage-way entrance at right end.
Interior: cottage much altered on ground floor, fireplace rebuilt and ceiling
joists mostly replaced. Winder staircase to upper and attic storey, and C19 joinery
intact to these 2 floors. Chapel has had floor inserted, though it is possible that
the west end originally had a gallery over the carriage entrance.
