Farmhouse: C17, altered probably early C18, extended C19.
Timber-framed, rendered panels, 2-panel high close studding to
front: rendered walls or Flemish-bond brickwork to extensions:
tiled roof. Main block with cross-wing on left: 2 storeys and
attics. Main facade: windows generally 3-light mullion and
transom, leaded lights. On left window, iron opening casement, in
centre opening made for wider original window: studs missing on
right. Extension sets forward: single-storey, flat-roofed canted
bay, normal window. On right single-storey lean-to porch, single-
light window, moulded eaves board, door on right return. Set back
to original timber-framed wall: main posts and rail survive only
on ground floor. Window in wider opening; C20 half-glazed door.
Single storey brick extension beyond, masked by garden wall at
right-angles to house. First floor: left end, jowl to main
posts, window in wider opening; extension wider panels, window in
centre, flat roof. Two windows in main block beyond, one in left
half of larger opening, second replacing studs. Above, gable on
left, 3 square panels with carved corner timbers; 2-light casement
over, diagonal studs in triangles left, vertical in apex. Carved
bargeboards, timber finials to apex and left eaves. Large brick
chimney in centre gable behind main block ridge. To right eaves
board as gable bargeboard: 3-light casement in gabled dormer,
carved bargeboards, apex and eaves finials. Chimney from near
eaves to right: crested ridge, hip on right, timber finial at
apex.
