Barn. Early-mid C18. For Francis Cholmeley. Rubble sandstone with some
dressed stone: to openings, pantile roof. 2 storeys, 4 internal bays. Almost-
central large segmental-arched doorway, partly blocked with concrete blocks to
form stable door; slit vents; broken shaped kneeler and moulded coping to left.
Rear: enlarged almost-central opening with timber lintel; 3 slit vents on each
floor; cyma reversa shaped kneeler and moulded coping to right. Left return: 2
blocked segmental-arched cart openings; slit vents in 3 tiers of 4, 2 and 1;
herringbone tooling on dressed stones forming gable. Interior: 3 roof trusses
with curved queen struts. Included for group value.
