of Orchard Cottage

2 cottages, now house. C18 with earlier origins; 2 builds; raised and
extended later. Dressed limestone to front, coursed rubble to rear;
irregular sandstone quoins; pantile roof; brick stacks. 2-storey, 4-window
front. 4-panel door to left of centre. 3-light, horizontal sliding sashes
with glazing bars to ground floor left and right; 4-pane sashes to first
floor. All lower openings have segmental arches of vertical sets, including
the blocked former doorway of cottage to right. Stone sills to all windows
coped gables with shaped kneelers. End and centre stacks. Enlarged
firewindow in left gable wall.
