Pair of cottages (under one ownership) formerly one house. Rendered cob and rubble
walls. Gable ended thatch roof, partly slate at rear. Axial brick stack and one at
right gable end.
Plan: At present two 1 room cottages with rear additions. Formerly one house of 2
rooms with hall to left - whose stack probably backed onto a passage - and lower room
to right heated by gable end fireplace. Probably C18 outshut built behind lower room
end C19 wing added behind left-hand side possibly when the house was subdivided.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Asymmetrical 4 window front of circa late C19 2-light casements
on first floor and mid C20 casements below - a 3-light one to left of centre, 2-light
to right. C19 plank door to left and C19 plank door with glazed panel to right of
centre. To its left is rectangular oven projection with slate lean-to roof. C19
slate roofed wing behind left-hand end. Thatched roof outshut at rear of right-hand
side.
Interior: Left-hand cottage has open fireplace with high chamfered wooden lintel
which rests on a wood corbel to the left, oven built into right-hand side. Roof
trusses probably C19. Features mainly concealed in right-hand cottage.
