GV II

Row of 4 estate cottages. Mid-later C19. Stone rubble walls. Hipped slate roof. 2
large axial stone ashlar stacks.
Plan: Four 2-room plan cottages, each apparently with one larger heated room and
smaller service room.
Exterior: Symmetrical 7 window front with mainly original fenestration. 2-light
casements apart from two 4-light casements at centre both of which appear to be
shared by 2 cottages, and a 3-light casement to the right of each porch. Above each
window is a dressed stone flat arch and hoodmould over. 4 identical, regularly
spaced stone gabled porches with decorative bargeboards and stone arches with
keystones. Behind each is a C19 4-panelled door apart from a C20 glazed door to the
right-hand cottage.

The cottages were built by the Clinton Estate.
