8/115 Entrance doorway in garden wall,
approx. 100 metres north of
Dutton Manor

Gateway, formerly entrance doorway to Buckley Hall in Ribchester parish,
(q.v.) 1662. Sandstone. Surround moulded, with triangular head.
Above the lintel is a square stone carved with a unicorn, both being
enclosed by a stepped weathered coping. The lintel is inscribed with
the following in raised letters: 'NEW BUCKLEY IS MY NAME, RIC SHERBVRNE
BUILT THE SAME ANNO 1662, AGED 62'.
